studio is based around a macintosh G5. Production software of choice is Logic Audio Pro 7 for audio; Final Cut Pro and Motion for video. Pop the hood and you'll see it's been hot-rodded with the inclusion of an RME Multiface audio interface and the Mackie UAD-1 DSP Card for effects. How many tracks can we play back? Somewhere around 120 is the rumor - but the real issue is that we can record 16 tracks each take. A laptop can take the place of the Mac for mobile recording - the entire system can be packed up and moved for live shows or creative location recording*. Video can also be shot and sync'd up to the studio recording, live show or location recording for DVD production: for more details see the Video Page.

The Staff consists of engineer and producer, Sam Greene who has four years of experience recording ensembles and 20 bands under his belt. Lending a hand where needed is trusty assistant engineer Alex Rivera . These two can also play on your tracks, forming a cohesive drum and bass section. More players can be hired at your request - strings, lapsteel, horns etc. Sam can also orchestrate your song using his extensive orchestral library.

The Space is a farm house located near mesilla, nm. Built circa 1860, it has 2.5 foot adobe walls, 11 foot ceilings, plenty of space and connected rooms for easy isolation of loud instruments.

Outboard equipment includes the presonus digimax - sending 8 channels of crystal clear microphone preamplification to the mac. A budget rack of pres adds 8 more mic pre's for less critical tasks such as scratch vocals and toms. Personalized headphone mixes are routed out to a headphone amplifier for up to 4 personalized mixes and 12 headphone outputs.

Microphones make up a big part of the sound - and we've got a decent selection. AT3035 for vocals, Rode NT5's for overheads, Shure 57 for guitars and snare, Sennheiser e602 for kick drum, Shure PG series tom mics, Audix Om series for scratch vocals. Bass guitar is normally DI'ed and mic'd for flexibility in mixing.

Instruments/Amps are available for use in most sessions - some equiptment is on loan and will require a rental fee. Bassman guitar/bass amp, Peavy Bass Stack, Fender P-Bass, Fender lite ash telecaster,Sonar 2003 drum kit, various acoustic guitars.
